Who qualifies for extra help Medicare 2026?

You qualify for Extra Help if you have limited income and resources and you're enrolled in a Medicare drug plan (Part D). Extra Help pays part of your Part D premiums, deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments. It also removes the Part D late enrollment penalty while you receive it. Some people get Extra Help automatically. That includes anyone who has Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), or a Medicare Savings Program. Everyone else applies through Social Security at ssa.gov. Income and resource limits change each year, so check your current numbers before you assume you don't qualify. Keep in mind Extra Help isn't available in Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam. Want help checking if you qualify? Call us at 855-559-1700.
