Why is my Medicare supplement going up so much?

Your Medigap premium jumped because these plans use age-rated pricing and face rising medical costs, so increases above the usual 5% happen when a company's claims run high or its block of policyholders ages. Most years you might see 3% to 5%, but some carriers push double-digit hikes in a single summer. That does not mean you're stuck. You can apply to switch to a lower-priced Plan G or Plan N with another carrier at any time, though you'll typically need to pass medical underwriting outside your original enrollment window. If you're healthy, shopping around often saves real money for the same coverage. Rates vary a lot between companies for identical benefits. Call me at 855-559-1700 and I'll compare your options across carriers to find a better fit.
