American Benefit Life, or American Benefit LLC?

Different companies. American Benefit Life Insurance Company (NAIC 66001) is the insurer that issues the policy. American Benefit LLC describes itself as a benefits broker selling other companies' plans. If your quote or rate letter reads “American Benefit Life Insurance Company”, this page is about it.

Carriers pay the broker; the price you pay is the same either way.

Plan G benefits are set by federal law, so an American Benefit Life Plan G pays the same bills as anyone else's. The difference between carriers is the premium and how fast it rises. A filed percentage applies to the rate schedule; your own increase also depends on your age and rating method.

Filed Again in 2026 in 14 States

CSG shows a 2026 Plan G filing in South Carolina, Alabama, Kansas, Georgia, North Carolina, Delaware, Tennessee, West Virginia, Florida, Texas, Arizona, Michigan, Arkansas and Ohio. The rest last filed in 2025. The starting rate is only part of what a policy costs you over ten years.

Rating method changes how a filing reaches you. In Mississippi, Indiana, New Jersey, South Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Alabama, Kansas, North Carolina, Delaware, Tennessee, West Virginia, Texas, Michigan and Ohio, the premium also rises with each birthday. In Georgia, Florida and Arizona, it is set by your age when you buy, so only filings move it. In Arkansas, everyone pays the same rate regardless of age.

At 65, in the county we sample, another carrier files a lower Plan G in every state above. At your age and ZIP it may differ. Switching means a new application. Outside your Medigap Open Enrollment Period, the new company can ask health questions and turn you down, unless you have a guaranteed-issue right or your state sets its own rules. Apply first and cancel the old policy only after the new one is approved.

Our guide to switching Medigap carriers covers the timing. Or enter your ZIP and we'll compare the carriers filed at your age.
