United American Medicare Supplement Review: Where Its Rates Rank and How Fast They Rise

By Anthony Orner, Independent Licensed Medicare Insurance Broker · Filed-rate data as of October 17, 2026 · Source: CSG Actuarial

United American files Plan G at $186.00 to $411.00 a month at 65 in 24 states. It is the most expensive Plan G on the board in 5 of them and in the bottom three in 12. Its best spot is Arizona, 7 of 29.

Longevity is not the issue; it has sold Medigap since 1966. Price is: its median Plan G sits $102.65 a month above the cheapest filing in the same county.

Carriers pay the broker; the price you pay is the same either way.

A United American Plan G covers the same bills as any Plan G; federal law sets the benefits. The difference is the premium, and the table shows how large that difference is at 65.

The 2026 Increases

United American raised Plan G in 19 of these 24 states in 2026. The increases run from 2.95% to 17.75%, and the median is 14.94%. The steepest is Florida, 17.75% effective March 15, 2026. Connecticut, Tennessee and Arkansas show a 0% change for 2026.

Already own a United American policy? You can usually move if you can answer the new carrier's health questions. The gap in the table is what a new buyer at 65 sees. Your own premium and age set your real savings, so price the switch at your age.

A Plan N That Costs More Than Its Plan G

In Arizona, Colorado, Montana, Texas, Michigan, Alabama, South Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee and Mississippi, United American's filed Plan N at 65 is higher than its own Plan G. Plan N normally costs less because it adds copays at the doctor and ER. If a United American agent offered you Plan N to save money, check both letters across every carrier.

Globe Life and Accident, the Sister Filing

Globe Life and Accident Insurance Company is a related insurer under the same ownership as United American, and it files Medigap too. In Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Indiana, Tennessee and Ohio, both appear on the same board:

  • North Carolina: Globe Life and Accident $156.00 (12 of 30), United American $281.00 (29 of 30).
