Medicare Broker for Central Texas & the Hill Country
From Austin down the I-35 corridor to San Antonio, and out through the Hill Country to Kerrville and Fredericksburg — if you live in Central Texas, a Medicare broker compares Medicare Supplement (Medigap) and Medicare Advantage plans from multiple carriers at no cost to you, using the actual rates carriers file with Texas. In our latest snapshot, 24 carriers filed Texas Plan G rates with more than a $150/month gap between cheapest and most expensive for identical benefits.

What Medigap costs in Texas right now
These are Texas filed rates for a 65-year-old non-smoking woman, verified against carrier rate filings as of 2026-07-12 — pulled at a Houston sample ZIP (77002). Carriers price by rating area, so Austin and San Antonio ZIPs can differ somewhat — but the spread between carriers shows up in every part of the state.
| Plan | Lowest filed rate | Highest filed rate | Carriers quoting |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plan G | $130/mo | $285/mo | 24 |
| Plan N | $99/mo | $243/mo | 23 |
Identical benefits, very different prices — nobody in Central Texas should enroll off a single carrier's quote. Full dataset in the Texas Medigap Rate Index.
Two metros, one corridor — and why that favors Medigap
For Medigap, hospital systems don't matter: Ascension Seton and St. David's in Austin, Methodist Healthcare, Baptist Health System, and University Health in San Antonio, and Baylor Scott & White in Temple and Round Rock all accept Original Medicare — so a Medigap plan works at every one of them. For Medicare Advantage, networks are metro-specific: an Austin plan's network and a San Antonio plan's network are different animals. Central Texans who retire in the Hill Country between the two metros — or split specialists across them — often find Medigap removes the geography problem entirely.
We check your doctors and hospitals against the actual plan documents before you enroll.
