By Anthony Orner, Independent Licensed Medicare Insurance Broker · plan list from the CMS CY2027 Service Area Reduction (SAR) file · prices from CSG Actuarial, pulled October 7, 2026

If you are on one and your letter says it ends, Minnesota lets you buy a Medicare Supplement with no health questions until March 4, 2027.

The guaranteed plan is Basic with the Part A deductible and excess riders: $355.94 a month in the plans we quote, no surcharge, non-tobacco, the same price at any age. Joined the plan when your Part B started, less than 12 months ago? Then any plan is guaranteed, Extended Basic included, with no surcharge (Minn. Stat. 62A.31 subd. 1u(b)(6)).

The insurer pays the broker; your premium is the same with or without us.

The right runs 63 days past December 31, 2026, but there is no reason to wait. Apply between October 15 and December 7 and the Medicare Supplement starts the day after the Advantage plan stops. Keep your letter: Minnesota asks for proof of the end date with the application.

Every plan ID here that ends included drug coverage (CMS files them as MA-PD), so add a stand-alone Part D plan in the same period. The 2026 cap on Part D out-of-pocket costs was $2,100; CMS sets 2027's. What each Minnesota plan covers and costs: Minnesota plans and prices.
