Find a Bankers Fidelity Medicare Supplement Agent

By Anthony Orner, Independent Licensed Medicare Insurance Broker · NPN 20586791 · Filed-rate data as of September 11, 2026 · Source: CSG Actuarial

Bankers Fidelity sells Medicare Supplement only through appointed independent agents. There is no employee sales force, no branch office, and no application on the company's website. I hold the appointment with both issuing companies and I submit these applications. Across the 21 states on my rate board, the family files the cheapest Plan G in 10 of them, starting at $109.75 a month in Virginia.

Most people reach this page the same way. They found the company on medicare.gov's Medigap finder or in a quote, saw a premium well under what everyone else filed, and then ran out of road. The carrier's form asks for a phone number and nothing happens. The 800 number routes to the same queue. Here's why that happens, which company will actually issue your policy, and what the rate looks like against every competitor in your state.

Why the Carrier Never Called You Back

The Medicare Supplement page on bankersfidelity.com collects a name, a ZIP code and a phone number. That is a quote request, not an application, and the page says so: an independent agent may contact you. The request goes into a distribution queue and out to contracted agents. Nobody at the insurance company is assigned to your name.

Whether anyone calls depends on which agent received it and whether that agent still writes Medicare Supplement. Plenty of them have moved to Medicare Advantage, where the commission is larger and renews annually. A Medigap application takes the same hour and pays a fraction of it. So the lead ages out.

Medicare.gov is the other dead end. Its Medigap finder shows which companies sell each plan letter in your county and prints a phone number beside each one. It cannot enroll you in a Medigap policy, and neither can any other government site. Medicare's own instruction is to contact the insurance company — which, for this company, means an appointed agent.

This is not a loophole and it is not a workaround. It is how the carrier chose to distribute. The premium is identical either way, because Medigap rates are filed with your state and approved before anyone can quote them. What changes is whether the application gets submitted at all.

Which Company Issues Your Policy

Atlantic American Group writes new Medicare Supplement business through two separate insurers, and the split is territorial. No state has both. The name on your policy will be whichever company files in your state, even though the quote and the brochure both said Bankers Fidelity. Both carry an AM Best rating of A-.

Bankers Fidelity Assurance Company

NAIC 71919 · writing since 2014

Issues in South Carolina, Virginia, New Jersey, Michigan, West Virginia, Oklahoma and Tennessee. Its pricing is the more uneven of the two: cheapest on the board in some states, last on the board in others.

Atlantic Capital Life Assurance Company

Issues in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Texas and Ohio. This is the aggressive one — it files the lowest Plan G on the board in most of its territory.

Three companies get mistaken for these two and are not related to either: Bankers Life (underwritten by Washington National, a CNO Financial company), American Benefit Life (Liberty Bankers), and Capital BlueCross (a Pennsylvania Blue plan). Check the exact legal name on your quote before comparing reviews.

Where This Family Is Worth Buying — and Where It Isn't

Every figure below is a filed rate for Plan G at age 65, female, non-tobacco, in each state's flagship county, pulled from the CSG Actuarial licensed API on September 11, 2026. Rank is against every carrier quoting Plan G on that same board. An agent who only sells one company will not show you this table, which is the reason to read it.

Cheapest on the board

Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia. In these 10 states no carrier filed a lower Plan G. This is the case where chasing down an agent was worth your afternoon.

Close, but not first

New Jersey and Ohio. Competitive without leading. New Jersey runs $2.65 a month above the cheapest filing; Ohio runs $17.35 a month above the cheapest filing.

Don't buy it here

Michigan, West Virginia, Oklahoma and Tennessee. Bottom half of the field in each. MI ranks 20 of 27 at $225.66; WV ranks 21 of 25 at $205.64; OK ranks 26 of 26 at $242.21; TN ranks 27 of 28 at $238.45. Same federally standardized benefits, more money.

What I Can and Can't Do

Where I can submit the application

I write where I hold the state license and the carrier appointment together: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia. That list is smaller than my license footprint on purpose. I stay out of the birthday and anniversary-rule states, where the annual switching window makes a different strategy the right one.

The application is electronic and signed remotely, so being in Cherry Hill does not slow anything down. Proximity is not what makes an agent useful here; the appointment and the comparison are.

Where I'll tell you to look elsewhere

In California, Connecticut, Florida, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania this family files no Plan G at all, so there is nothing for me or anyone else to write. If that is your state, the useful question is which carrier filed the lowest rate instead, and I will answer it on the same call.

And in the four states where the rate ranks in the bottom half, I will say so before you apply. Plan G benefits are set by federal law. A cheaper Plan G from another insurer pays the identical claims.

What Happens When You Call

  1. 1

I quote the whole board, not just this carrier. Your ZIP, age, gender and tobacco status against every company filing Plan G and Plan N there. You see where Bankers Fidelity actually lands before you decide anything.

  2. 2

We check the rate history, not just today's price. A low opening rate followed by double-digit filings every January costs more by year four than a boring rate that moves 4% a year. The filing column in the table above is where that conversation starts.

  3. 3

I start the application on the carrier platform. About 15 minutes. You need your Medicare number and your Part A and Part B dates. You sign electronically; no paper, no fax, no office visit.

  4. 4

You keep a 30-day free look. Once the policy is issued, federal law gives you 30 days to read the real contract and cancel for a full refund. Applying starts the process. It does not lock you in.
