Who Writes an Atlantic Capital Medicare Supplement Policy?

By Anthony Orner, Independent Licensed Medicare Insurance Broker · NPN 20586791 · Filed-rate data as of September 11, 2026 · Source: CSG Actuarial

Appointed independent agents, and nobody else. Atlantic Capital Life Assurance Company (NAIC 17393) is the Atlantic American insurer whose name lands on the policy when you buy Bankers Fidelity in 9 states, and as of September 11, 2026 it files the lowest Plan G on the board in 8 of them. It has no consumer enrollment site and no agents of its own.

Search the name and you mostly find agent-recruiting pages. There is very little written for the person who already has the quote in hand and needs someone to file it. This page fixes the name, publishes what the company charges against every competitor in its nine states, and tells you where I can submit the application.

First, Make Sure It's the Right Company

Callers arrive with four or five versions of this name: Atlantic Capital, Capital Assurance, Atlantic Capital Assurance, Capital Life. Only one of them is a Medicare Supplement insurer. Pull the quote back up and read the legal name, because the companies below are genuinely unrelated and their rates have nothing to do with each other.

One more thing worth knowing: Bankers Fidelity Life Insurance Company, the 1955 original, still services older policies but does not appear in the current Medigap quoting index. New business comes from the two companies in the top rows.

The Low Price Is Real. Here's the Part to Watch.

This block opened in 2023. A young pool of insureds has not yet generated the claims an older block carries, which is exactly why the opening premium undercuts insurers that have been paying claims on the same benefit since the 1990s. That advantage is structural, and it is temporary.

The correction shows up in the filings. North Carolina took 12.9% effective August 2026 — the steepest in this book so far. None of that makes the policy a bad buy. It makes the second question the important one: what has this company filed, and what does the competitor two dollars higher file in a typical year?

That is a five-minute conversation with the filing history in front of both of us, and it is the part a carrier's own quote form will never raise. Plan G benefits are identical across every insurer by federal law, so the entire decision is price today against price in year five.

Getting the Application Submitted

I hold the appointment in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio and Texas. The application is electronic and signed remotely, so where I sit does not matter; the appointment does. Have your Medicare number and your Part A and Part B effective dates ready and it runs about 15 minutes. If you are applying outside your Medigap Open Enrollment Period or a guaranteed-issue window, expect health questions and underwriting. Once the policy issues, you have 30 days to read it and cancel for a full refund.
