GPM Health and Life Medicare Supplement Review: The Cheapest Carrier in Three States and the Dearest in Several
By Anthony Orner, Independent Licensed Medicare Insurance Broker · CSG Actuarial filings pulled September 9, 2026 to September 14, 2026 · 22 states
GPM Health and Life is the cheapest Plan G in West Virginia, Oklahoma and Florida, $125.32 in Kanawha County, $134.12 in Oklahoma County, $200.58 in Hillsborough County, at 65 for a non-smoking woman. It is also in the bottom three of 15 state boards, and last outright in Virginia, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Michigan and Arizona. The Arizona filing is $457.03, 212% over that state's floor.
There is no contradiction. The filing records explain it: the cheap states are blocks opened in 2024 or 2025, and the expensive ones are blocks opened around 2018 that have taken an increase every year since. The steepest single filing on record is +50.0% in Arizona, effective September 1, 2025. A shopper in Tampa is buying the young GPM. The old GPM is the forecast.
The carrier pays the broker; your filed premium is the same with or without us.

Green rows are the young blocks. Red rows are in the bottom three of their board. “Filings since” is the year of the first rate change CSG holds for that state, and the count that follow it.

The Young GPM: West Virginia, Oklahoma, Florida, Iowa, Alabama and Tennessee
6 states carry two or fewer GPM filings, which marks them as blocks opened in the last couple of years. These are the states where the name earns its place on a quote: 1 of 25 in West Virginia at $125.32; 1 of 26 in Oklahoma at $134.12; 1 of 23 in Florida at $200.58; 2 of 27 in Iowa at $134.61; 2 of 22 in Alabama at $138.50; 8 of 28 in Tennessee at $155.76. In West Virginia, Oklahoma and Florida it also files the cheapest Plan N, $91.79 in WV, $93.25 in OK, $148.43 in FL.
The filings on these books so far: West Virginia +7.0% then +9.0%; Oklahoma +5.0% then +15.0%; Florida +7.0% then +9.0%; Iowa +5.0% then +30.6%; Alabama +5.0% then +9.0%; Tennessee +5.0% then +30.0%. That is the honeymoon. The older books below show what the same company does once a block has three or four years of claims in it.
The Old GPM: 10 States at Double the Floor or More
In 16 states the record starts in 2018 and runs 10 filings deep. Arizona has taken 7 consecutive filings of 12% or more. Compounded, the Arizona record multiplies a 2018 premium by 4.1, which is how a Plan G reaches $457.03 on a board whose floor is $146.51. In Montana, Virginia, Mississippi, Colorado, South Carolina, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina, Arizona and Ohio the GPM rate is at least twice the cheapest carrier's.

Check Whether I Can Leave GPM — 855-559-1700Plan N: Where GPM's Second Letter Beats Its First
GPM's Plan N is top-3 in West Virginia, Oklahoma, Florida, Iowa, Alabama, Nebraska and Tennessee. In Tennessee that is a different story from the Plan G, which ranks 8 of 28 there. The carrier's own G-to-N gap is widest in Arizona: $457.03 against $215.58, $241.45 a month for the copays. Plan N asks up to $20 at some office visits and up to $50 at an ER that sends you home, and does not pay Part B excess charges. Neither letter pays the $283 Part B deductible.
Methodology
- All rates, ranks and filings are read at build time from our licensed CSG Actuarial state files (September 9, 2026 to September 14, 2026); no number is typed.
- The carrier is matched by NAIC code 67059 in every state. Parent, start year and AM Best rating are as CSG reports them.
- “Young” means two or fewer filings on record in that state; “old” means three or more. The split is a reading of the filing history, not a statement from the carrier.
- Boards exclude direct-to-consumer and guaranteed-issue rate classes and any row above four times the state median.
- A multiplier compounds every filed percentage in order; it does not include the age steps of an attained-age policy.
