Delaware Medicare Costs in 2026: One Price for the Whole State
By Anthony Orner, Independent Licensed Medicare Insurance Broker · Delaware filed rates pulled September 14, 2026, CSG Actuarial · quoted at ZIP 19701, New Castle County
A 65-year-old Delawarean pays $357.97 to $455.90 a month for Part B plus a Plan G: the $202.90 Part B premium, then a filed Plan G of $155.07 from Nassau Life Insurance Company up to $253.00 from United American, 20 carriers in all, from CSG Actuarial filings pulled September 14, 2026. The same table applies in Wilmington, Dover and the beaches: Delaware carriers file one rating area for the whole state.
The floor is a near-tie. Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield files $155.45, $0.38 behind Nassau Life Insurance Company, and 7 carriers sit within $15 of the bottom. The full $97.93 spread between cheapest and dearest is narrower than all but 1 of the in the 28 state files we hold, which makes the carrier's filing habit, not today's rank, the thing to shop on here.
The carrier pays the broker. Your premium is the filed rate either way.

3 Counties, One Rating Area
Every carrier on the Delaware board files a single statewide rate, so New Castle, Kent, Sussex share the $155.07 floor and everything above it. 3 of the 28 state files we hold are priced this way; most states move the number with the ZIP. The practical effect is that a Delaware quote is a birth-date question, not an address question.

Rank the Delaware Board for Me — 855-559-1700Plan N: $115.65 at the floor
The cheapest Delaware Plan N is Nassau Life Insurance Company at $115.65, $39.42 under its own Plan G and $473 a year, with Part B making the bill $318.55. 18 carriers file the letter, $115.65 to $205.00. Plan N hands back up to $20 at some office visits and up to $50 at an ER that sends you home, and it does not pay Part B excess charges, which Delaware permits.
Delaware is one of the states where Plan F still outnumbers Plan G: 26,258 policies on F, 21,769 on G and 10,133 on N at the December 2023 NAIC count, 65,300 in all. Plan N's 15.5% share is higher than in all but 4 of the other 27 state files we hold. Plan F cannot be sold to anyone who became eligible for Medicare on or after January 1, 2020, so this page prints no Plan F table.

5 Carriers Discount a Second Policy in the House
5 of the 20 Delaware carriers file a household discount, 5.1% to 20%. The largest is HealthSpring National Health (HCSC) at 20%, which takes $164.53 to $131.62. Nassau Life Insurance Company, the floor, files none. With discounts applied the lowest line is HealthSpring National Health (HCSC) at $131.62, so a couple's answer differs from a single applicant's. Two adults at one address is the usual test; the wording varies by carrier and some require both to hold a policy.
Methodology
- Every premium is a carrier filing pulled from the licensed CSG Actuarial API on September 14, 2026 and rendered from the Delaware data file at build time. Nothing here is typed.
- Profile: woman, non-tobacco, individual, no household discount, at the age shown. Discounted lines are computed from the filed percentage.
- Delaware was quoted one ZIP per county and the counties were merged into rating areas where every carrier files identical rates for every plan and age; all three merged into one.
- Direct-to-consumer and guaranteed-issue rate classes, bundled Plan G variants and rows above four times the state median are excluded. Carrier counts are those returning a filed quote on the pull date.
- Cross-state comparisons are computed against the 28 state files we hold on the same profile. Enrollment is the NAIC statewide count by plan letter as of December 2023.
- The Part B premium and both deductibles are 2026 CMS figures from a single source file. Plan G does not pay the Part B deductible.
