What Medicare Costs in Georgia in 2026: Part B Plus Plan G
By Anthony Orner, Independent Licensed Medicare Insurance Broker · Georgia filed-rate data pulled September 10, 2026, CSG Actuarial · Fulton County (ZIP 30213)
A 65-year-old in Fulton County pays $144.62 to $332.00 a month for Plan G across 20 Georgia carriers (CSG Actuarial filings, pulled September 10, 2026). Add the $202.90 Part B premium. The whole bill is $347.52 to $534.90 a month, before a drug plan. Bankers Fidelity (Atlantic Capital Life) files the low end. United American files the top. Both pay the same Plan G claims. The $187.38 between them is $2,249 a year.
Carriers pay the broker; the price you pay is the same either way.
The Same Georgia Bill From Two Carriers
Same Part B, same Plan G benefits, two carriers. This is the bill at 65 in Fulton County at each end of the table.
Part B plus the cheapest filed Plan G
Part B plus the most expensive filed Plan G
Neither bill includes a Part D drug plan. That depends on the prescription list. Both leave the $283 Part B deductible with the policyholder; Plan G does not cover it. Both pay the $1,736 Part A hospital deductible. On the cheaper bill, Part B is 58% of the total.
Carry the dearer bill for 20 years. The gap alone is $44,971, before a single rate filing. The median Fulton County Plan G at 65 is $196.61, 36% above Bankers Fidelity (Atlantic Capital Life). Half the carriers on the table charge more than that.
The Plan G Line at 65, 70, 75 and 80 in Fulton County
Part B costs $202.90 in Atlanta and in Valdosta. The Plan G line moves with the age on the application. Each row is the cheapest and the priciest filed Plan G at that age. The profile is a woman starting a policy in Fulton County (ZIP 30213).
| Plan G, buying at | Cheapest filed rate | Carrier | Most expensive | Carrier | Gap per month | Carriers quoting |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 65 | $144.62 | Bankers Fidelity (Atlantic Capital Life) | $332.00 | United American | $187.38 | 20 |
| 70 | $149.80 | Bankers Fidelity (Atlantic Capital Life) | $362.00 | United American | $212.20 | 20 |
| 75 | $166.17 | Medico Insurance Company | $382.00 | United American | $215.83 | 20 |
| 80 | $184.18 | Medico Insurance Company | $399.52 | Guarantee Trust Life | $215.34 | 20 |
CSG Actuarial filed rates, pulled September 10, 2026. Female, non-tobacco, individual, no household discount. Fulton County sits in one of 78 Georgia rating areas. A Savannah or Macon ZIP returns different numbers than this table.
Read the table the Georgia way. All 20 carriers price Georgia on issue age. The $149.80 at 70 is what a new 70-year-old buyer pays. It is not what a 65-year-old buyer pays five years later. Buy Bankers Fidelity (Atlantic Capital Life) at 65 for $144.62. The age part of that rate stays put. Only the carrier's block filings move it. Waiting five years to start the same policy costs $5.18 a month more.
Waiting has a price in every row. The cheapest start at 75 is Medico Insurance Company at $166.17. That is $21.55 a month above the cheapest start at 65. At 80 it is Medico Insurance Company at $184.18. Apply up to six months before Part B starts. The starting rate is then set at the 65 band.
Fulton Is Not Georgia's Cheapest County
Appling County has the lowest filed Plan G at 65 in the state. It is $131.47 from Bankers Fidelity (Atlantic Capital Life). Polk County's lowest is $157.76 from Bankers Fidelity (Atlantic Capital Life). That $26.29 gap between county floors is the whole range across 159 counties and 78 rating areas. Most Georgia counties sit on the $131.47 floor. In the 17-county rating area around Calhoun County, Bankers Fidelity (Atlantic Capital Life) quotes $131.47.
| Cheapest Plan G at 65 | Carrier | Counties we quoted (county seat) |
|---|---|---|
| $131.47 | Bankers Fidelity (Atlantic Capital Life) | Richmond (Augusta), Muscogee (Columbus), Bibb (Macon), Clarke (Athens), Hall (Gainesville), Houston (Perry), Lowndes (Valdosta) |
| $144.62 | Bankers Fidelity (Atlantic Capital Life) | Fulton (Atlanta), Gwinnett (Lawrenceville), Cobb (Marietta), DeKalb (Decatur), Clayton (Jonesboro), Cherokee (Canton), Forsyth (Cumming), Henry (McDonough), Chatham (Savannah) |
16 counties quoted, one ZIP each, September 10, 2026. Same profile as the table above.
The 9 counties on that list pay $144.62. That is $13.15 a month above Richmond, Muscogee, Bibb. Same policy, same carrier. Over a year that is $158. Rating area, not carrier choice, sets that part of the bill.

| 80 | $134.04 | Medico Insurance Company | $327.00 | Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield | $192.96 | 21 |
Same Fulton County woman, same pull, as the Plan G table. Statewide, the Plan N floor at 65 is $98.42 in Appling County, from New Era Life.

Each carrier writes its own qualifying rule. Some want two Medigap policies at one address. Some accept a second adult in the household without a policy. Ask before assuming a spouse qualifies. I quote every Georgia call both ways.

What a Georgia carrier charges today is one number. What it filed this year is the other. Bankers Fidelity (Atlantic Capital Life) quotes $144.62 on a rate effective August 1, 2026. Its +6.9% filing took effect August 1, 2026. Medico Insurance Company quotes $158.92 after +24.3% effective February 1, 2026. Those are two different bets. A quote shows the first number and hides the second.

Tell me the carrier and the new premium. I'll place it among the 20 filed Fulton County Plan G rates. Then I'll say whether an underwritten switch is worth the paperwork. Carriers pay the broker; the price you pay is the same either way.

Georgia had 182,212 covered lives on Plan G at the end of December 2023. Plan F had 134,481 and Plan N had 35,634. The statewide total was 373,397 covered lives (NAIC Medicare Supplement Experience Exhibit via AHIP May 2025 report). Plan G is 49% of that total. Plan F is closed to anyone new to Medicare on or after January 1, 2020. So this page carries no Plan F table. Those counts are statewide by plan letter, not by carrier and not by county.
Methodology
- Rates are carrier filed rates pulled from CSG Actuarial on September 10, 2026. Every dollar figure above comes out of the Georgia file, not a keyboard.
- Profile: female, non-tobacco, one applicant, household discount off except where a sentence turns it on. A man, a tobacco user, or a couple gets different numbers.
- Each county was quoted through the ZIP with the largest land overlap. Fulton County is ZIP 30213.
- "Gap" is the priciest filed rate minus the cheapest. Same plan, same age, one county.
- "County spread" ($26.29) is the priciest county's floor minus the cheapest county's floor.
- Carrier counts move. 20 carriers quoted Plan G at 65 in Fulton County; 20 quoted at 80. Carriers open and close Georgia blocks, so the count shifts from pull to pull.
- Georgia carriers file by rating area, 78 of them. One county's table is not your quote.
- Plan F is not sold to anyone new to Medicare on or after January 1, 2020. There is no Plan F table here.
- The Part B premium and both deductibles are 2026 CMS figures, read from one shared file.
- Rate-change rows come from CSG Actuarial's filing records, January 2026 to September 2026. A row is a filing on the carrier's block, not one person's renewal.
