Ohio Medicare Broker: Free Help With Real Filed Rates
An Ohio Medicare broker compares Medicare Supplement and Medicare Advantage plans from multiple carriers, at no cost to you, and shows you the actual filed rates for your age and ZIP code. Premiums are the same whether you enroll through a broker or directly with a carrier — the difference is that you see every option instead of one company's.
I'm Anthony Orner, an independent Medicare broker licensed in Ohio and 34 other states (NPN 20586791). I work with Ohio clients from Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Toledo, Akron, and Dayton to the smallest townships by phone and video, and this site publishes the same filed-rate data I use on those calls. As of July 2026, easyKind Medicare holds a perfect record on Google: all 142 of our Google reviews are five stars.

These are filed rates for a 65-year-old non-smoking woman, verified against carrier rate filings as of 2026-07-12. Ohio has the widest Plan G price spread of any state we track — $225/month between the cheapest and most expensive carrier for identical benefits.
| Plan | Lowest filed rate | Highest filed rate | Carriers quoting |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plan G | $118/mo | $343/mo | 32 |
| Plan N | $102/mo | $277/mo | 31 |
Sample ZIP 44101 (Cleveland). Your exact rate depends on age, ZIP, tobacco status, and household discount eligibility.
Two quote questions that move real money in Ohio
In the same rate pull, 4 of the 32 carriers quoting Plan G offered a household discount (10–12.2% off), and 37 of 42 carriers surcharge tobacco users (about 47% on average). Whether your broker asks about your household and tobacco status can change your quote more than the plan letter.
Named carriers, real Ohio numbers
Most broker sites won't name carriers or prices. Here is what the carriers we've reviewed in depth actually charge a 65-year-old for Plan G in Ohio, with each carrier's most recent Ohio rate filing (as of 2026-07-15):
| Carrier | Plan G at 65 | Market rank | Latest OH filing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bankers Fidelity | $136/mo | #3 of 32 | +12% (2026-01-01) |
| Medico | $147/mo | #6 of 32 | +9% (2026-02-01) |
| WoodmenLife | $171/mo | #12 of 32 | +9% (2026-06-01) |
| Humana | $179/mo | #16 of 32 | +25.03% (2026-04-01) |
| Mutual of Omaha | $204/mo | #25 of 32 | +25% (2026-05-01) |

Independent broker vs. captive agent vs. calling the carrier
A captive agent represents one insurance company and can only show you that company's plans. Calling a carrier directly gets you the same single-company view, from a call center. An independent broker is contracted with many carriers and is required to be licensed in your state — I pull the filed rates for every carrier I represent and put them side by side.
In Ohio, where the price spread between carriers for identical Plan G benefits tops $220 a month, the single-company view is expensive.
