South Carolina Medicare Costs 2026: Part B Plus Plan G
By Anthony Orner, Independent Licensed Medicare Insurance Broker · South Carolina filings pulled September 11, 2026, CSG Actuarial · Greenville County (ZIP 29690)
$1.98 separates the two cheapest Plan G filings in Greenville County: Bankers Fidelity Assurance at $114.30 and Nassau Life Insurance Company at $116.28 (CSG Actuarial filings, pulled September 11, 2026). Add the $202.90 Part B premium and a 65-year-old's bill is $317.20 to $452.13 a month across the 25 carriers, the top being GPM Health and Life at $249.23.
Every Plan G pays the same claims under federal law, which makes the $134.93 monthly spread pure price: $1,619 a year, $32,383 over twenty years with no increase. 2 of the 25 carriers file under $125 here, and 16 carriers filed 15% or more on Plan G this year, so a two-dollar race at the bottom is settled by who files what next, not by the sticker.

Methodology
- Premiums are carrier filings pulled from CSG Actuarial on September 11, 2026 and rendered from the South Carolina data file. Nothing is typed by hand.
- Profile: female, non-tobacco, individual, no household discount; discounted lines apply the filed percentage.
- Greenville County (ZIP 29690) is the flagship county. Key counties are quoted at the ZIP with the largest land overlap; Abbeville County represents the 3-county rating area.
- Spread is the highest filing minus the lowest for one plan letter, age and county. Twenty-year figures multiply the monthly spread by 240 with no filings assumed.
- Cross-state Plan N claims compare statewide floors from the same licensed file.
- Carrier counts are whoever returned a filed quote on the pull date. Direct-to-consumer and guaranteed-issue rate classes are excluded.
- The Part B premium and both deductibles are 2026 CMS figures from one file. Plan G does not pay the Part B deductible.
- Enrollment is statewide by plan letter as of December 2023, from the NAIC Medicare Supplement Experience Exhibit via AHIP May 2025 report.
- Filing rows are CSG Actuarial records for December 2025 to September 2026; "No" rows matched no quote-table carrier and carry no rate.
