Arizona Plan G by Buying Age in Maricopa County
Between 65 and 80 the cheapest Plan G in Maricopa County rises $58.07, from $146.51 to $204.58, or 40%. Each row is the age on the application. The middle filing is the median. Half the 29 carriers file below it and half above, so one outlier cannot drag it.

Most of the climb comes late. The floor moves $5.26 from 65 to 70, $20.86 from 70 to 75 and $31.95 from 75 to 80. The middle filing goes from $203.37 to $290.94 over the same fifteen years. Amber rows move 5 or more places from 65 to 80. Maricopa County, ZIP 85354, lowest filed class, pulled September 10, 2026.
Washington National has the steepest entry curve: $194.52 at 65, $402.41 at 80. AARP / UnitedHealthcare (NAIC 84549) also more than doubles. United American has the flattest, $186.00 to $210.00. Medico Insurance Company files the same Plan G price at 65 and at 70. That is why it climbs the ranks early.
The useful reading for a caller who is 72: start from the 70 and 75 columns, not the 65 one. A carrier ranked in the middle at 65 can be one of the cheapest at that age, and the reverse. I price the exact birth date on the call. The file shows four ages; a quote uses yours.

Same profile, ZIP and pull date as the Plan G table.
Plan N trades that saving for copays. Some office visits cost up to $20, and an ER visit that doesn't end in admission up to $50. Part B excess charges stay unpaid too. The Arizona Plan G vs Plan N page runs that trade carrier by carrier.
What the Rate Type Means for Each Row
CSG tags 26 of the 29 Arizona Plan G lines issue age, 2 community rated and 1 attained age. The tag changes what an age row tells you.
- Issue age (26 carriers). The row is the entry price for that age. After purchase the premium moves when the carrier files on its Arizona block, never on a birthday.
- Attained age (Everence Association). Its rows run $264.64 at 65 to $378.05 at 80, about $37.80 more every five years. Here the later rows also preview a policyholder's own bill as she ages, before any filing.
- Community rated: AARP / UnitedHealthcare (NAIC 79413) and Blue Cross Blue Shield. In this file both still charge a new buyer more at 80 than at 65: $176.12 to $281.24 and $362.34 to $666.07. The label alone does not settle what a late buyer pays. A quote at your own age does.
For most buyers that makes the application date the decision. Arizona has no birthday rule. A later switch outside the six-month open enrollment window means health questions, unless a guaranteed-issue right applies. I have new clients apply up to six months before Part B starts. That locks the age-65 row, $146.51 at the cheapest in Maricopa County today, and the filed rate on the day of application.

Across all 15 counties, the cheapest and priciest county floors sit $13.32 apart at 65. The gap is $20.85 at 70, $20.95 at 75 and $18.60 at 80. The priciest floor at 70 and 75 sits in La Paz County, outside the table. The carrier still moves the bill far more than the county does. The Arizona rate index has every county side by side.

CSG Actuarial rate-change records on each carrier's Arizona quote, matched by NAIC code. A filing is a change on the whole block, not one person's renewal.
A cheap entry price and a calm filing record are two different things. I read both on the call. Every Arizona Plan G filing this year is on the rate index. Every state's list is on the 2026 rate-increase page.
Methodology
- Source: CSG Actuarial licensed API, pulled September 10, 2026. Every rate here is read from that file when the site builds; none is typed.
- Profile: female, non-tobacco, individual, no household discount. A man, a tobacco user or a couple gets other numbers.
- Ages: CSG returns rates at 65, 70, 75 and 80. Ranks are positions among the carriers quoting Maricopa County at that age, cheapest first.
- The middle filing is the median of the Maricopa County filings at that age. The floor rise is the cheapest rate at one age minus the cheapest at the age before.
- Counties: each is quoted through one ZIP with the largest land overlap. Arizona has 15 counties in 14 rating areas.
- Rate types are CSG's tags on each filing. Filing records are CSG's rate-change history on each quote.
- Birthday rule: Arizona has none, per the NAIC's state-by-state Medigap birthday-rule chart (NAIC, May 2026).
- Plan F is closed to anyone new to Medicare since January 1, 2020, and this file has no Plan F rows. Neither Plan G nor Plan N pays the $283 Part B deductible.
