ZIP 46239, CSG Actuarial filings pulled September 11, 2026; each company's lowest filed class, no household discount applied. Rank is the place on the Marion County board for that letter. Physicians Mutual files Plan G only here.

Two companies price the letters within one office copay a month: Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield ($4.76 apart) and WPS Health Solutions ($17.77 apart). At those prices a single office copay a month wipes out the discount. The widest gap, $142.45 at GPM Health and Life, comes from the dearest Plan G on the board, not from a cheap Plan N. Next is Insurance Company of North America (Chubb) at $64.41, 37.2% of its Plan G.

The carrier still matters more than the letter. 18 of the 26 Plan N filings in Marion County cost more than the cheapest Plan G there, which is $118.22 from Bankers Fidelity (Atlantic Capital Life). A pricey Plan N is the worst of both: the copays without the saving.

Both Letters Climb With Age, and the Gap Widens

25 of the 27 Plan G filings and 25 of the 26 Plan N filings in Indiana are attained age. At those carriers both letters step up on birthdays, and any block filing comes on top. At Bankers Fidelity (Atlantic Capital Life) the dollar gap between its two letters grows at every step, $26.65 at 65 to $39.44 at 80. On today's schedules, the saving at 65 is the smallest that company shows at any age in the table.

The County Sets the Size of the Trade

Plan N saves $41.97 a month at the floors in Lake County and $24.67 in Allen County and 12 others. Across these counties the Plan N floor moves $0.21 and the Plan G floor moves $17.51, so most of the county difference sits on the Plan G side. Statewide the floors are $109.46 for Plan G and $84.79 for Plan N, both in Allen County.

What Plan N Leaves With You in Indiana

Up to $20 at some office visits. Up to $50 for an ER visit that does not end in an admission. And Part B excess charges: a doctor who does not accept Medicare assignment can bill up to 15% over the approved amount, and Plan N leaves that with you. Plan G pays all three.

The deductibles split the same way on both letters. Each leaves you the $283 Part B deductible, and each pays the $1,736 Part A deductible.

Indiana's birthday rule changes carriers, not letters. Since January 1, 2026, a Medigap policyholder 65 or older can move to the same lettered plan at a new carrier once a year, from one month before to one month after their birthday, without medical underwriting. A move from Plan N to Plan G is not covered.

At the December 2023 NAIC count, 32,798 Indiana policies were Plan N, 8.8% of the total and 16 for every 100 on Plan G, a share that ranks 14th of 28 states in our file. 15 carriers on the pair table took a Plan G filing effective in 2026. The largest in the records is HealthSpring Insurance (HCSC) at +42.74%, effective April 1, 2026, and that carrier's Plan N is 2nd on the Marion County board at $89.20. Filings on attained-age policies stack on the birthday steps; the full list with today's ranks is on the Indiana rate index.
